December 19, 2008 I contacted Laurence Miller to obtain information to your claims. Mr. Miller did not provide enough feedback to convince me to maintain his product in my database. Needless to state, I've since removed Mr. Miller's product from the Illusion Solution Magic Shop's online store. I applaud you for your diligent efforts within the magic community. It is important for any business owner to sometimes actually listen to statements of consumers in regards to products and services available. The voice of the consumer is an awesome check and balance system. December 01, 2008 It was brought to my attention that the trailer was nothing like the DVD. I felt it was an attempt to make sales by using a false video clip. I did bring this to the attention of Murphy's, which was probably ignored. I removed the product because of this. I feel that the advertising material should accurately reflect the product, at least to some degree. In my opinion this was blatant false advertising. The DVD from what I was told (I never watched it) was pretty bad. Recently I had to re-do the ad copy for BAG-O-LITES. The video used for this product was from Jam Magic's Miser's Delight. The ad copy also made claims that were not possible with this product. It's like putting your finger in the leak at the dam. I believe most or all dealers use the ad copy supplied by the distributors. If it is brought to my attention that something is misleading I am always willing to fix it. December 01, 2008 I have removed said DVD (Bicycleman) both from my website and store catalog, we also do not have any in stock. We have been in business 33 years and learn to trust certain suppliers. Murphy's who happens to be a major supplier, not only to me but many, many other magic shops, brick and mortar ones like ours, and on line shops, has proven to me to be an ethical supplier. Without going into details I have known them to discontinuing carrying items that were rip offs. I would contact them, if you have not already, about this issue. As you are no doubt aware that it is virtually impossible to trace every single item, DVD or whatever rip offs and otherwise unethical or illegal products. Now that i know, I will let our magic shop mistress know about it and get back to you as soon as possible. Magic Boutique holds a very strict policy of non-piracy and non-piracy is the main principles that we stand for. In fact, we have on several occasions removed products from makers who has got dubious backgrounds before. Rest assured we will look into this matter and if blatant rip-offs are really the case, the products will be removed from our website ASAP. A very respected and large supplier in the magic world for magic stores. I personally have never heard of "Bicycleman" and know nothing about him. I'll certainly let Murphy's Magic be aware of your information and thanks very much for letting us know. Please let me be aware of any other unethical situations that you may see on my site..Thanks so much. ... We are taking the "Bicycleman" item down off the website, while we make a final determination. We are also contacting our dealer about the issue.
