Stolen material?
Are Laurence Miller's magic tricks and sleights his original material? Or were they created by other magicians and is he selling them without their permission? Does he credit other magicians for their ideas, and sell their material with their permission? Or does he claim them as his own creation? Some of the magicians people have claimed he may have stolen material from are Ricky Smith, Steve Dobson, Tony Chang, Ray Kosby and Chad Nelson. Respectable magicians in the magic community that deserve our support for their contributions to the art of magic.

Preview video misleading versus actual DVD content?
Consumers have reported his DVDs do not contain all the material advertised in the preview video. When they received the DVD, some tricks/moves were missing such as those shown below. See the left side of this page for details.

MadhatterMagicShop.com who has since removed the Bicycleman DVD from their website, once stated:
"The DVD is not as advertised on the clip. In fact the entire advertisement we found to be misleading.......well actually fraudulent. Mr Miller's website has also mysteriously vanished (probably the best trick he's done yet)."

The DVD running time is not as described?
The ad copy used to describe the Bicycleman DVD says:
"Running Time Approximately 1hr 41min".
Yet, if you are careful to watch EVERYTHING on the DVD and then calculate the time you will come to about 35 to 40 minutes. That even allows for the time it takes to navigate menus and press play for each clip. The product advertisement appears to be false by 1 full hour.
Shady character?
You can try to e-mail him through his website's e-mail form (no e-mail address is given). Here is a quote from his website:
"Even though I'm too lazy to answer any of my fans, my secretary will convincingly reply to you as me. She's very nice. If you get a mean e-mail, that was not my secretary and you should probably cease to send me letters. Because that means I didn't like you." -Laurence Miller
A member of the magic community who knew Laurence Miller personally recently wrote:
"...his ethics in magic is really bad. Until we started finding out he was really really shady. (He would give out fake numbers to everyone! Even people who thought were friends.)"
http://community.dananddave.com/showthread.php?t=4948#6
His website is designed to easily accept your credit card, but it lacks contact information of any kind. E-mail, phone and mailing address. After you see what he's been up to, you'll know why.
Lack of morals and respect for ethical standards in the magic community
On his website, Laurence Miller said he wants to be like Jesus.
But Jesus was an honest man not a deceiver. Jesus did real miracles, not to be compared with magic tricks or sleight of hand. Jesus gave, He didn't steal. It's disheartening to see the lack of morals and respect Laurence Miller shows for other magicians published material.
